Okay so for this project I was suppose to make a travel guide app for tourists. Well since my dad was from Japan, I decided to make an app for Nagoya, his home city. Anyways, this was a great experience and I learned a few things such as how Multi-State Objects (MSO) can be used in layers to create some really cool effects. I also learned how to create interactive maps which was actually easier than I thought it would be. Either way, I'm quite pleased with the end result. In fact, this app is going to be showcased along with other apps in an article in my college's annual 'Platt MUSE Magazine.'

This was a great two-part project for I had to design a booklet and then turn it into an interactive application for the iPad 2. I decided to make a planetary guide which would have information about our solar system. Well it was more like a interactive brochure or book rather than an app, but either way, learning the differences and advantages that are available when using the tablet versus standard print such as scroll able text, slideshows, and buttons was both fun and interesting. I can now understand why digital tablets are going to be the future for brochures and books because it gives the user a more dynamic and interactive experience.

I was told to redesign a 'Point Of Purchase' (POP) display box, so I decided to do a Magic The Gathering (MTG) booster box. Being a past casual player (and a Yu-Gi-Oh duelist before that), I used to buy booster packs to get the latest cards (I also bought a lot of individual rare cards too but that's a different story). Anyways, I went for the latest booster set out at the time, Dark Ascension, which comes with 36 booster packs, but I redesigned it for 20 packs instead. Since I finished a bit early, I also designed a display stand as well. I had a lot of fun learning about how boxes are designed, printed, and cut which was critical for knowing how to place the images and text.

Okay so I had to redesign a DVD cover for a movie and
naturally I choose to do the new Star Trek movie directed by
J.J. Abrams. I don’t really consider myself as a true Trekker, but I’m
a definitely a fan of the whole Star Trek universe. Anyways, I had a
week to design one cover, so I decided to make two. I also designed a DVD
sleeve and two outdoor ads (one for the DVD itself and the other for
the theatrical release). I really like how this project came out
and I also learned a few Photoshop techniques along the way. I
learned about the vanishing point function and utilized it for
the placement of the ads to give a nice perspective effect.
Overall, I had a lot of fun designing this one.

Ah yes, so I had to redesign a magazine cover so since I am a subscriber to
Playboy magazine, I decided to redesign one of their issues. I choose to do the
November 2011 ‘College Issue’ of Playboy magazine because, I felt that the
original cover is a bit plain and didn’t have a college feel to it. I had about
a week to design this one and I really liked how this project turned out. I wanted
to redesign this cover with a college theme to it, but also to make it seem like a
believable looking design that would be for Playboy. Also I had to design one of the
pages for the table of contents using a similar theme. I had a ton of
fun with this project.
Site Update - BETA Site Launched

Okay, so I finally decided to start designing a basic layout for my website. I'm actually using
a similar layout taken from my "Star Trek Tech" site. For now, I'm starting with a really basic home page.
Anyways, this is a Beta release so the layout might change a bit and a lot of the links don't work yet because they are still
under construction (actually, all the links don't work except for the ones in the sidebar). Also, I do plan on adding a NavBar
and a FooterBar, but that won't be until after I decide on a final page directory layout. Also, I'll probably be adding
some minor Java JQUERY plug-ins and possibly some PHP. I've designed this initial site
layout in Photoshop, but all the HTML, CSS, and future Java is being designed in Notepad++.
I learned recently how much easier it is to design a site using Dreamweaver, but I'm waiting
to learn Dreamweaver in my upcoming Term 4 class at Platt. So since I didn't want to teach
myself the program the wrong way, I decided to design the initial layout using methods that
I already know and to hone in my current skills a bit further.
Update 04/10/12 - I added a carousel Java JQUERY plug-in to the header background to showcase some of my work.
Update 04/11/12 - I integrated My Resume into the design layout of the site. Also my Art Portfolio is now available with all my latest work.
Update 07/25/12 - Took a HTML break but now I'm back and working on my site again! Anyways, my family Special Thanks page should now be online. Also updated some links.
Update 07/26/12 - All quarantines have been lifted! Hopefully all links on my site work properly! Now my About Section should be online. Should be updating my portfolio soon.
Update 07/27/12 - Added an image carousel to my homepage to showcase some of my top work. Also changed my Art Porfolio page a bit.
Update 07/29/12 - Modified my homepage layout a bit and added background gradients to older posts. Also fixed some minor HTML page warnings.
Update 07/30/12 - Added a top bar which contains social links to both my Facebook and Twitter pages.
Update 07/31/12 - Added a simple 'favicon' to my site. Also updated my Work Experience page.
Update 08/01/12 - Decided to remove the navBar. Also added a simple Twitter feed to the header that displays my most recent Tweet.
Update 08/02/12 - Fixed text sizing issues on homepage when being viewed by iPhones.
